istories

There appear to be three different incarnations of istories:

1. created for reading on an iPod, using a freeware package called iWriter - pretty hard to work out where this package can be accessed, Still looking. One site which seems to be archiving these pieces is called istorysilver  http://netcolony.com/istorysilver/info.htm

2. created for use with a software program costing £99: seems to be tied to the Inanimate Alice series by Kate Pullinger, though that series is available online for free. Kate Pullinger is a well-known writer and  has been involved in the Trace project at Nottingham Trent Uni, but this 99quid price tag might stop interactive writing out to a wider community (in my view). However this is a close 'competitor' for Genarrator since it offers easy uploading of images. text etc. I'll have to test this out!

3. created by MAD studios: a bit difficult to work out exactly what these are, but they seem to be game-like pieces, written with a program, called iStory Creator. I tried to download it, but couldn't gain access.http://www.freewebs.com/mad-studios/
